📜 Rig Discussions — Forum Rules & Community Regulations

Welcome to Rig Discussions! Our goal is to maintain a constructive, respectful, and high-quality community for builders, creators, and hardware enthusiasts across all types of setups—PC, Camera, Console, Mobile, and Wearables.

By registering and participating on this forum, you agree to abide by the following rules.

1. Respect & Civil Conduct
  • Zero Tolerance for Toxicity: Respect fellow members regardless of their setup or budget. Elitism, harassment, hate speech, personal attacks, and aggressive trolling will result in an immediate warning or ban.
  • No Flame Wars: Keep debates constructive. Civil comparisons between hardware brands (NVIDIA vs. AMD, Sony vs. Canon, Apple vs. Android) are welcome; toxic fanboy arguments are not.
  • Keep Discussions Safe: Maintain a welcoming environment for creators and builders of all experience levels.
2. Posting Guidelines & Content Quality
  • Use Descriptive Titles: When starting a topic, write a clear, helpful title (e.g., "[Help] Water loop air pocket in dual-radiator setup" instead of "HELP ME PLZ").
  • Use Prefix Tags: Tag your threads appropriately ([Build Log], [Showcase], [Help], [Review], or [Guide]) to keep sub-forums organized.
  • Search Before Posting: Before asking a technical question, search the forum to see if it has already been answered.
  • No Spam or Duplicate Threads: Do not post the same topic across multiple sub-forums. Multi-posting or repetitive self-bumping will be removed.
  • High-Quality Media: When showcasing your rigs, use high-resolution attachments or direct image embeds. Ensure build log photos clearly display cable management and hardware layouts.
3. Self-Promotion, Advertising & Links
  • Commercial Spam & Links: Unsolicited commercial advertising, affiliate link spamming, and bulk self-promotion are strictly prohibited.
  • Creator Showcases: Content creators may share their own build logs, rig review videos, or hardware guides in the appropriate sub-forums, provided they actively participate in the discussion and engage with the community.
  • Signatures: Signatures must remain clean. Maximum 3 lines of text, or one static image banner (468x60px). No excessive external promotional links or animated flash graphics.
4. Hardware Safety & DIY Disclaimers
  • Safety First: When posting guides on custom electrical work, power distribution, battery mods, BIOS flashing, or high-voltage wiring, include clear safety disclaimers and warnings.
  • User Liability: Rig Discussions is not responsible for hardware damage, voided warranties, or personal injury resulting from advice or DIY guides posted by community members. Proceed with custom hardware modifications at your own risk.
5. Marketplace & Trading (Buy / Sell / Trade)
  • Account Eligibility: To post listings or contact sellers in the Marketplace, your account must have a minimum of 10 verified posts and be at least 14 days old.
  • Listing Requirements: All items for sale must include high-resolution photos featuring a handwritten physical note showing your Forum Username, Date, and "rigdiscussions.com".
  • No Commercial Vendors: The Marketplace is exclusively for user-to-user sales of personal hardware. Commercial resale, scalping, or mass dropshipping is forbidden.
  • Transaction Disclaimer: Rig Discussions does not middleman transactions or guarantee sales. Always use protected payment channels (such as PayPal Goods & Services).
6. Moderation & Enforcement
  • Staff Authority: Global Moderators and Administrators reserve the right to edit, move, lock, or delete any thread or post that violates these rules.
  • Warning System:
    1. 1st Offense: Official warning & post removal/edit.
    2. 2nd Offense: Temporary account suspension (3 to 7 days).
    3. 3rd Offense: Permanent ban from rigdiscussions.com.
  • Reporting Violations: If you notice a post violating community standards or containing spam, use the Report Post button (🚩 icon) on the post rather than engaging.
